SUB-BOTTOM PROFILING & MARINE MAGNETIC SURVEY
SUB-BOTTOM PROFILING
Acoustic Sub-Bottom Profiling (SBP) systems are used to determine the physical properties of the seafloor and to image and characterise geological information several tens of meters below the seafloor.
Sub-bottom profile data is used for a range of purposes including:
• Geological surveys
• Sediment classification
• Inspection of the buried depth of pipeline & cable
• Archeological surveys
• Mining/dredging surveys
We use a variety of SBP systems to meet the strict requirements of customers such as:
-
Edgetech 3200-XS
-
Applied Acoustic Boomer and Sparker.
MARINE MAGNETIC SURVEY
A marine magnetic survey is the measurement of Earth's magnetic field intensity or its components along with a series of profiles over an area of interest with the objective of measuring the magnetism of the ocean floor. Magnetic surveys are also used to locate a magnetic material in the search for buried objects.
At VHS, The magnetometer in use are:
-
Marine magnetic Sea Spy
-
SeaQuest 3-Axis Gradiometer
